Sandhagen, 31, enters the Octagon on the heels of back-to-back victories. The Elevation Fight Team export last appeared at UFC on ESPN 43, where he took a split decision from Marlon Vera in their five-round encounter on March 25. Sandhagen has compiled a 9-3 mark across his 12 outings in the UFC. Font, meanwhile, replaces Usman Nurmagomedov on short notice and does so having won five of his past seven bouts. The former CES MMA champion last competed on April 8, when he cut down Adrien Yanez with punches in the first round of their UFC 287 pairing. In 15 assignments under the UFC banner, the 36-year-old Font owns a 10-5 record.

UFC on ESPN 50 also features a featherweight affair matching Diego Lopes (-177) with Gavin Tucker (+147), a lightweight scrap pitting Ignacio Bahamondes (-225) against Ludovit Klein (+185) and a pair of light heavyweight tilts, as Kennedy Nzechukwu (-160) faces Dustin Jacoby (+130) and Tanner Boser (-145) meets Aleksa Camur (+115). Featherweights snag the spotlight on the undercard, where Billy Quarantillo (-173) squares off with Damon Jackson (+143) in a three-round confrontation at 145 pounds.
