Bellator MMA featherweight contenders Adam Borics and Mads Burnell will toe the line against one another in the Bellator 276 headliner on March 12 at The Family Arena in St. Louis. The winner could conceivably emerge as the promotion’s next No. 1 contender at 145 pounds. Borics has rattled off three consecutive victories. The Sanford MMA rep last fought at Bellator 256, where he took a unanimous decision from Jeremy Kennedy on April 9. Burnell, meanwhile, enters the cage with the wind of a seven-fight winning streak in his sails. The former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship titleholder last competed on July 31, when he outpointed Emmanuel Sanchez across three rounds at Bellator 263.

As Borics and Burnell pore of the remaining details associated with their forthcoming clash, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

28: Years of age for Borics, who was born on July 7, 1993 in Eger, Hungary.

4: Borics wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 24% of his career total (17). His list of victims includes Pat Curran and Aaron Pico. Borics owns six other wins by submission, six more by decision and another by disqualification.

3: First-round finishes to Borics’ credit, but only one of them has taken place inside a Bellator cage. He submitted Anthony Taylor with a rear-naked choke 4:12 into their Bellator 177 pairing on April 14, 2017.

29: Rounds completed by Borics as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on six different occasions and carries a perfect 6-0 record in those bouts.

1: Setback on the Borics resume. He surrendered to a rear-naked choke from onetime NCAA wrestling champion and former Bellator MMA bantamweight titleholder Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 238 in January 2020.

27: Years of age for Burnell, who was born in Husum, Denmark, on March 6, 1994.

9: Burnell victories by submission, accounting for 56% of his career total (16). His methods of choice: four Japanese neckties, two rear-naked chokes, one armbar, one brabo choke and one anaconda choke. Burnell holds one other victory by knockout or technical knockout—he put away Darko Banovic with second-round punches at Bellator 248 in 2020—and six more by decision.

30: Seconds needed for Burnell to submit Jamie Reynolds with an armbar at Odense Fight Night 3 on April 25, 2015. Having occurred nearly seven years ago, it remains the fastest finish of his 19-fight career.

7: Countries in which Burnell has competed as a mixed martial artist. He has gone 6-1 in his native Denmark, 4-1 in England, 3-0 in the United States, 1-0 in Sweden, 1-0 in Scotland, 1-0 in France and 0-1 in the Netherlands.

.885: Cumulative winning percentage between the three men—Arnold Allen, Michel Prazeres and Ott Tonissar—who have defeated Burnell. They boast a combined record of 54-7.
