Archie Colgan (11-0) vs. Mansour Barnaoui (22-6)

Colgan has been one of Bellator/PFL’s most promising prospects since signing with the organization in 2021, but his career has descended into limbo since the Bellator/PFL merger. Plans were unclear with the 29-year-old Denver native, but a path to stardom has been unveiled with this fight. Despite having no stakes in the PFL Tournament, the winner of this fight will be deemed the No. 1 contender for Usman Nurmagomedov’s Bellator lightweight title. Colgan, a former NCAA Division I wrestling national qualifier, controls the fight with his excellent cardio and control. He has solid fundamentals in his standup game, but nothing eye-opening. Colgan thrives on outworking his foes and grinding them out on the cards, but that won’t be easy against a skilled finisher like Barnaoui.

“The Afro Samurai” has reeled off 15 submissions throughout his career, but many of those subs were set up by his heavy hands. Barnaoui is a powerful lightweight who can sneak in shots and disorientate his opponents. While Colgan is expected to take the next step in his career, Barnaoui is the type of threat that can ruin the party. He has the hands to make Colgan hesitate and the submission game to catch the young upstart potentially.
