No. 10
10. Kenny Florian
The runner-up on Season 1 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Florian fought for Ultimate Fighting Championship gold on three different occasions in two separate weight classes; and though he failed in each of his bids, persistence and longevity matter.
Florian bolstered his resume at the expense of high-caliber opposition, with wins over two-division Deep champion Dokonjonosuke Mishima, “The Ultimate Fighter 5” semifinalist Joe Lauzon, former Strikeforce lightweight titleholder Clay Guida, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 2 winner Joe Stevenson and onetime Pride Fighting Championships lightweight boss Takanori Gomi.
A Westwood, Massachusetts native, Florian compiled a 12-5 mark across 17 appearances in the UFC, losing only to Diego Sanchez, Sean Sherk, B.J. Penn, Gray Maynard and Jose Aldo. He retired on May 31, 2012 and remains one of two fighters -- Sanchez is the other -- to have competed in four different UFC weight classes.
